New River to be lined with Concrete

A somewhat dramatic headline, deliberately intend by Hugh to be eye catching. Hugh has published the article on Harringay Online to alert his users to the plans, which indeed do include lining part of the bed of the New River with concrete to prevent leaks.

Thames Water has recently completely work on the path beside the waterway on the stretch where apparently the lining is necessary to prevent leaks. 

The relaid path will be a boon to many of us , the entirely unmade pathit replaces  was previously often impassable.

So I urge you to click through to Hugh's New River discussion and to read the responses. One such response links through to a website called  NEW RIVER RENEWAL CAMPAIGN . This local action group published its first newsletter in November, but has reports of action at aleast as far back as April 2022.

While some of the things the group has asked for do seem to be happening, I am slightly dismayed that I cannot find out who they are, as there are no names of the organisers onthe website.
