Trees, drought and finally some rain

I took a walk through the estate, wondering about the effect the hot weather has had on our developing eco-structure

Ironically the inscription ends "There is Hope", though how much for a revival of this recently planted tree, I don't know	. . . and others in Spring Park have also suffered.
There is a competition between trees and the shrubs planted around them. Here the shrubs seem to have won . . . .	. . . but here we can see very clearly the extent of the tree's roots
This thick leaved hedge on Coster Avenue seems very healthy	. . . and this one on Scrimgeour Place seems to be home to some wildlife to judge by the nibbles taken out of the leaves
Obviously the grass has suffered, except where sprinklers have been installed.	And the established trees on Woodberry Down look pretty good
