Trees, drought and finally some rain

I took a walk through the estate, wondering about the effect the hot weather has had on our developing eco-structure

10776800487?profile=RESIZE_400xIronically the inscription ends "There is Hope", though how much for a revival of this recently planted tree, I don't know10776805075?profile=RESIZE_400x . . . and others in Spring Park have also suffered.
10776809689?profile=RESIZE_400xThere is a competition between trees and the shrubs planted around them. Here the shrubs seem to have won . . . .10776812095?profile=RESIZE_400x  . . . but here we can see very clearly the extent of the tree's roots
10776813096?profile=RESIZE_400x This thick leaved hedge on Coster Avenue seems very healthy10776815877?profile=RESIZE_400x . . . and this one on Scrimgeour Place seems to be home to some wildlife to judge by the nibbles taken out of the leaves
10776819283?profile=RESIZE_400x Obviously the grass has suffered, except where sprinklers have been installed.10776830878?profile=RESIZE_400x And the established trees on Woodberry Down look pretty good
