Very Large Music Festivals in Finsbury Park

One of the members of our Park Collection WhatsApp group recently posted these words

It is not that I object to events but the lack of consultation and the choice of events. There have been events in FP since I remember seeing the Pogues and Van Morrison in the 80s - the council is using the public park as a way of raising funds which is acceptable. But in my view only if the range of events reflects the range of interest in the population. And this should be done sensitively and with a care to the sound pollution one of these weekends causes. If we sign this it may at least give us some traction in the discussion.

Please read the petition. It makes a lot of good points.

The Park is largley out of bounds to the public for weeks at a time - why should this be so?

And what happens to the money that Haringey raises? Why won't they tell us?

And why does Haringey make so little from the festivals, when the organisers make so much? At least that's what we think happens, only they won't tell us.
