What events should we be holding?

Resident-led, community-building events coming soon. Let us have your ideas.

R&R have, within their existing management fee, a budget to spend on community building events. This budget is not yet being spent (partly due to the Pandemic). What community building events would you like to see for Park Collection residents? And when would you like them to be run? We have been thinking of proposing a spring and a summer 'party' of some kind. Please let us have your ideas. It's up to us all to make these events successful.

West Reservoir Centre Hosts Water Sports Open Day

The bank holiday Monday on 28th August will see West Reservoir Water Sports Centre hold an Open Day for local families and residents who would like to experience the water.

The day will run from 11am to 2.30pm and will include an opportunity for people to have an opportunity to try either a coached kayaking session or take a sailing ‘joyride’ round the lake with one of our instructors.  If you’re not sure about getting on the water, then there’s still the opportunity to have a sit next to the water and enjoy the view alongside some lunchtime snacks that will be available.

Both the kayaking and the sailing are available for adults and children that are 8 years and over. There’s no need to book ahead for the Open Day, just come along on the day and join in for free. Both the kayaking (1 hour) and the sailing (30 minutes) sessions will be taking place from 11.30am.

Young people aged 8 to 17 will also have the opportunity to learn more about West Reservoir’s Youth Club which runs throughout the year and gives young people the opportunity to develop their skills across a number of different sports and crafts. Many young people who attend our Youth Club also go on to gain qualifications, with the potential to work in the industry in the future, through our Assistant Instructor programme.

If you have any questions in advance of the event then send an email to our Community Sports Manager:  allie.nelkon@gll.org or call us on 020 8442 8116.
